Chapter 16- Secrets

Chapter 16
Secrets

Doctor, nurses, and bodyguards, pushed me down a narrow corridor with Halli running beside me. "What in the Chesna just happened?" "Shhhhh" a bodyguard said. Just then he whacked the wall, making part of it crumble, then a metal object fell out and he smashed it with his foot. "Voice Tracker" he said to the woman bodyguard. Then the thought hit me. These aren't my bodyguards, where was Liam and Fred? And was Malcom OK?
Then I heard one of the bodyguards whisper to the other, "How do we get her out, you know with this 'doctor'?" That's it, this whole thing was planned. Everything. These are Hell's spies. But how did they know the secret passage? Who is a double agent?... No, no, it couldn't be, Malcom? I pushed the though away because first I had to figure out how to get away from these spies. And with tubes, needles, and IVs' stuck all around my body, as well as my critical condition, from 'almost death' brain surgery, that wasn't going to be easy. My only hope was in Doctor and the only thing that mattered, was getting my sister to safety, without injury. I was blank for ideas for what seemed like hours, but then my light bulb went on.
"Doctor," I said in my most innocent voice. "Yes, is everything OK?" Doctor whispered back. "No, I think there were some side effects from the surgery." The woman spy raised an eyebrow, as if she suspected something suspicious. Well, the other spy was busily knocking out and smashing Voice Trackers. "Oh my! What is it?" "Ummm, well it is a little private, can I whisper it in your ear?" The woman spy's eyebrow dropped, as if she suspected nothing. He leaned down. And I whispered, "They are Hell's spies, not my guards." He stood straight up with a worried face and said "I'm afraid we  will have to do something about that later." I didnt know if that was a fake reply about the 'side effect problem' or if it was a fake reply about the guards or it was a we have to deal with it later reply. Which ever one it was, I lost hope in doctor, until, when Doctor knocked the 'man' spy out by a quick leg maneuver to the head. Then when the 'woman' spy shot her gun, he drop rolled to the side. He avoided the shots, until she got annoyed and charged at him. He acted like he wasn't aware that she was coming toward him and grabbed her from behind and threw her into the wall, knocked her out as well. He then ran to the poor, confused Halli, picked her up and put her on my wheeling hospital bed beside me. Then he started pushing us, at a run, talking into all the Voice Trackers, trying to get some Light Chesna person, whether a bodyguard, nurse, regular person or even Gloriana's attention, but nothing happened. No one came to our rescue.
I got out my own emergency button, and pressed it. A sonic-light shot upward, flashing. "What is that?" Little Halli asked. "It's a emergency button. Supposed to be used if I needed help in Hospital, but I hope the light beam attracts help, not more Hell spies." Just then we came into a room, walls and floor made out of granite, with a tall man standing in the middle, back to us. "What a pleasure to finally meet you, Miss Jane, or should I say Vianne?" His voice was scratchy, dark, evil. This was Hell. I'd never met him before, in person. He wore black robes, with black, knee-high, studded-leather boots. He slowly turned round, but for some reason being in the presence of Hell didn't scare me, it was how he called me Vianne. I must of looked confused because he said "Confused are we?"
"Why did you call me Vianne?" I asked suspiciously. He looked at me with his cold eyes. "You don't already know, deary?" "Don't call me that" I spit back. Doctor tried to make me call down, gestures saying to be careful, but then Hell spun his hand and Doctor was thrown into the wall. I looked at Doctor, I looked at Hell. "What was that for?" "Be quiet and I will explain, say another word and I will to the same to her. He pointed at my sister. I was about to shout back, but I couldn't let anything happen to her. I nodded.
"Well, my spies tell me, your name isn't really Jane. They forced your parents into talking. They told me everything in order to save your life. Sweet, isn't it?" He did this evil, high pitched life. I stayed silent. "Smart girl. So, you may have not known before, that I have been hunting you all my life. Your "brother" who came back to get you and bring you to Light Chesna, wasn't actually him." He laughed again. "It was my spy. Your brother died years ago, after I captured him. I killed him because he was in my way of killing you, along with others. Don't worry, he didn't suffer, his death was quick." He did his evil laugh again. I felt awful, my brother has been dead for years and he died alone. And I didn't even know. He had been protecting me. He went to protect me, but, wait. Why does Hell want to kill me and why is he calling me Vianne? "Question time deary or Vianne." he said in a squeaky voice. "Why are you calling me Vianne?" "Oh yes, I forgot. Your parents changed your name to Jane, so it would slow me down from finding you." I couldn't believe it, my name was Vianne. Wait, but Hell could be lying, but why would he lie about that. Words were spinning in my head. Then, I remembered, I was still weak, I had just woken up from a dangerous surgery. Just then men and women in Light Chesna spy clothes, ran in from the tunnel we came from. They ran to me, to Halli, to Doctor, started running my wheeling hospital bed out of the room, but I still had one more question. I looked at Hell. "WAIT! Why are you after me?" He smiled, an evil grin and Poof, he was gone.
